WEEE authorised representative for companies without a branch office of their own in France

As your authorised representative, get-e-right GmbH will assume all obligations on your behalf under Articles R543-171-1 to R543-206-4 of the French Environmental Code. To this end, get-e-right will handle all correspondence and communication with the French WEEE Register for you.

Legal background
Foreign distance sellers are likewise obliged to comply with the respective national WEEE regulations. For this reason, non-French distance sellers must also appoint a WEEE authorised representative in France, who is responsible for compliance with the obligations there and is required to register with the national WEEE register to act on a proxy basis.

In France, this obligation is described by Article R. 543-175 of the French Environmental Code.

“I. - In departure from Article R. 543-174 a producer established in another member state of the Union may* designate a natural or legal person established in France as an authorised representative responsible for ensuring compliance with the obligations incumbent upon him or her under the WEEE regulations.”

*Please note: The word “may” in this context merely refers to the alternative of establishing a separate branch office in France. Companies without a French branch office are required by law to appoint a WEEE authorised representative.
